About Coastal Rowing at MACPR
Mid Atlantic Para Coastal Rowing is glad to be the first organization in the US dedicated to making coastal rowing accessible to disabled rowers. Coastal rowing is the adventure side of rowing. Coastal rowing boats are also used where the water can be rougher and for touring. At MAPCR, the sport involves rowing along a sea coast and out into the sea.
Coastal rowing can be learned quickly due to a stability and robustness of the boats. Adaptive rowers especially benefit from increased stability of coastal rowing shells which provides opportunities for rowers of all abilities to develop, compete and excel.
Mid-Atlantic Coastal Rowing has training site options that include intracoastal waterways, open bays and ocean rowing. Our boats and practices fulfill all US Coast Guard and Commonwealth of Virginia safety requirements and are adapted to meet competition standards for both US Rowing and FISA.

We provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans to participate in adaptive coastal rowing.
